Applied Industrial Technologies LP is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada.  We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of of Steel Fabricator / Hydraulic Assembler in our Saskatoon, SK shop.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Set up components for welding/fabrication as per standard specifications.
• Weld different metals and alloys in various positions (carbon and stainless steel).
• Weld/fabricate a variety of equipment and components for hydraulic power units.
• Determine appropriate welding equipment or procedures based on individual job requirements.
• Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
• Operate power tools and general welding equipment – grinders, gouging and cutting equipment.
• Assemble hydraulic components as required – millwright experience an asset.
• Paint – spray painting of completed units.
• Maintenance and use of equipment that does not compromise safety.
• Quality – Testing and inspection of welds and hydraulic testing of completed units.
• Participate and comply with all required Health & Safety Programs and training.
•  Work safely, lead by example and contribute to Applied’s corporately sponsored safety program.
• Communicate appropriately, confidently and professionally to colleagues and management.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience within an industrial setting is required.
• Welding certification or Fabrication certification is required, indentured apprentices’ will be considered.
• Millwright experience is considered an asset.
• Painting with spray system experience an asset.
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude, experience or certification in other trades an asset.
• Self motivated, organized and able to work independently.
• Able to work in a team environment and utilize all available resources.
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
• Desire to succeed and grow within the organization.
• Previous supervisory experience will be considered an asset.
