Overview:
Checker will review engineering drawings, CAD decals and analysis reports for accuracy and completeness as well as provide technical support during the assembly of hardware. Must be able to work with a team of engineers, designers, drafters, and analysts in the development of standards drawing packages for Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), Chassis/enclosures, and rack equipment. Coordinate the design/drafting and checking efforts for an assigned program to ensure that design details and drawings are in compliance with established standards. Report to project and functional management on task progress. The candidate maybe required to create presentations packages for Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews.
Candidate will work at Orbital ATK’s Technical Services Division in Greenbelt, MD supporting various flight and ground systems programs from Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) and/or the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).
Experience Requirements:
• Five or more years of experience reviewing and checking Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and electromechanical drawings packages.
• Must be familiar with the CAD software tools: AutoCAD, Mentor Graphics PADS/DxDesigner, Cadence OrCAD, CAM350, and Altium
• Must be familiar with Windows and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Must have working knowledge of the IPC, MIL and NHB specifications.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and customer interface skills required.
• Must be a graduate of a CAD/Drafting/Design/Computer Aided program.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Experience with NASA specifications for the development of electromechanical hardware is a plus but not required.
Education/Certifications:
• High School Diploma or GED is required
