Opportunity to play a key role in an international, $5 Billion+ publicly traded company headquartered outside of Atlanta.  Reporting to the Manager of Tax, the Tax Senior will be responsible for supporting all aspects of Chart’s domestic tax reporting and compliance obligations.  This position will include domestic tax accounting and assisting with US domestic tax compliance.  The role will interface with our global finance teams including financial reporting, treasury, financial systems and local controllers.  The ideal candidate has a strong income tax accounting and compliance foundation, as well as a strong work ethic, critical thinking skills, the desire to drive change and process improvement, and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. This is permanently remote position.   

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

 

  • Support domestic federal and multistate tax compliance preparation through preparation of workpapers including book to tax differences, state modifications, state apportionment workpapers, etc.
  • Preparation of annual and quarterly domestic income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, working with internal team and external service providers
  • Support the development and implementation of domestic tax strategies by completing ETR and cash tax modeling
  • Prepare tax account reconciliations and related journal entries on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as required
  • Prepare quarterly estimated tax liability calculations and assist in payment submission to taxing authorities
  • Provide support for state and local tax audits and notice responses
  • Interact on a regular basis with regional and corporate financial personnel to ensure that they are fully informed and adding value in areas of compliance, tax financial reporting, and operational/development support
  • Work closely with the financial team and business unit management, assisting on global income tax accounting and special projects with their respective business units
  • Support preparation and maintenance of tax controls documentation for SOX compliance
  • Contribute to building high-performance culture and positive work environment within remote tax team

Your Education Should Be…

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
  • CPA certification preferred 

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

 

  • Minimum 2-3 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 or Large Regional Preferred), or corporate tax experience with large multinational company
  • Experience with ASC 740 and federal, state tax law knowledge is a must
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local income tax returns and supporting workpapers for large multi-national corporations
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision (or similar tax software) is a requirement
