Job Summary

The Senior Government Operations Analyst will prepare applications for tariff changes and/or changes to Local Terms of Service for regulated or formerly regulated services, including, but not limited to, price changes, bundle changes, promotions, and changes in the rate or application of service order charges. In this role, you will also be responsible for understanding, documenting, and adhering to state filing and customer notice requirements and ensuring applications and filings are in compliance with these rules and regulations. Further, you will develop model tariffs for assigned projects, work with product management, legal, regulatory, and other business units to identify opportunities and resolve issues while ensuring that desired business outcomes are achieved.

Main Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert for filing requirements and timeframes in assigned states
  • Maintain and update filing requirements and process changes resulting from revised regulations and/or legislation
  • Prepare regulatory filings and transmittal letters for various company entities and services, which will include clearly articulating prices/terms/conditions and data gathering
  • Monitoring pending tariffs/postings and internally communicating status
  • Maintaining numerous tariffs and tariff-like documents, ensuring accurate and timely publication of all changes
  • Interfacing with billing teams and assisting with coordination to ensure rates for new services, and rate changes for existing services, are timely implemented
  • Creating and preserving superseded rate and tariff histories to support Lumen’s position in billing disputes and/or discrepancies
  • Assisting in the preparation of responses and analyses for investigations, inquiries, data requests, audits, interrogatories, billing disputes, lawsuits, and class action suits
  • Coordinating with, and providing input to, product and marketing groups in the creation of new products and product bundles in order to ensure that any regulated services or charges are presented in a compliant manner.

What we look for in a candidate

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in the telecommunications/technology industry with regulatory and/or legislative background and familiarity with tariffs
  • Internally driven self-starter, able to work without significant oversight and lead projects from start to finish
  • Ability to work independently, while managing multiple complex issues concurrently
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex issues both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to organize work, make sound decisions and exercise good judgment
  • Knowledge of Lumen’s Products and Services
  • Experienced with various Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
