Develop your talents by applying your expertise within our facility in Calgary, as the Roll-Off Driver :

 

  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies, OH & S Legislation and WCB reporting procedures.
  • Arrive well rested, mentally and physically prepared for the day’s duties.
  • Complete the Pre & Post-trip truck circle checks as per itemized inspection sheet.
  • Complete any repair orders for the truck to ensure that the assigned truck is in a safe condition.
  • Immediately report any defects in equipment or workmanship, which may jeopardize the safe operation of the vehicle to the Transportation Manager, Alberta.
  • Report any and all damage to the vehicle, its contents, or to the property of others due to an accident in which the equipment is involved.
  • As a representative of the Company, it is important to always be neat in appearance, wear the provided uniform at all times and be courteous to our clients.
  • While on clients’ site, notify the client of your presence on their site and ensure the site is left in the condition it was found in if not in better condition. This could include clean up of any excess material that might have fallen out/off and general housekeeping of the immediate area
  • Responsible to meet all legal requirements under the Traffic & Highway acts, as well as any Provincial or Municipal laws regulating the safe operation of a motor vehicle.
  • While on clients’ site, abide by the site safety regulations.
  • Ensure that all loads being transported are loaded in a safe and secure manner.
  • Training of other staff on vehicles, runs and operations as assigned by the Transportation Manager, Alberta.

  • Upon arriving at a client’s site, advise the client of your presence and ensure that the compactor equipment is shut down and locked out before switching containers.
  • Driving between various client locations to switch, install and/or remove roll off containers.
  • Tarping and picking up partial/ full roll off container loads and transporting loads to the proper facilities to be dumped.
  • Ensure that all compactor equipment is properly hooked up prior to leaving the clients’ facility
  • Ensure container steel doors are secure in the open or closed position prior to loading/unloading.
  • Stand clear of rear when opening doors due to the potential for the load to shift suddenly.
  • Container doors can spring open under extreme pressure once locking device is disengaged. Ensure that no personnel, machinery, or structures are in the doors swing path during operation.
  • Roll-off cable, hook, or hydraulic components could fail due to wear or fatigue. Ensure that no personnel or machinery is working or traveling behind the vehicle when the container is being picked–up or dumped.
  • Minimum 3 years truck driving experience
  • Roll Off Diving experience is a MUST
  • Experience in a related industry (recycling, waste management etc.) an asset.
  • Familiarity with the city and surrounding areas
