BWXT is seeking a Quality Inspection Supervisor to join our growing team in Mt. Vernon, IN!

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports production manufacturing processes through supervision and daily oversight of a team of inspectors.
  • Observes shop floor activities to ensure compliance to internal quality procedures and customer standards.
  • Completes and ensures accurate time entry records for assigned employees; effectively communicates employee performance expectations and addresses conduct and performance concerns appropriately and promptly.
  • Initiates and coordinates personnel training/qualification activities and maintains appropriate documentation. 
  • Assists in the development and implementation of inspection plans.
  • Participates in CAPA (corrective action) resolution for component processes. 
  • Works closely with Engineering and other departments to provide technical support for problem solving and assists in defining appropriate corrective actions. 
  • Participates and supports design teams through the development of product inspection plans.
  • Provides analysis of quality data to identify trends and implement product improvement actions.
  • Maintains required quality assurance records and ensures records are complete and accurate.

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent along with a minimum of five years of work experience in a quality driven manufacturing/fabrication/production environment.
  • Prior/current qualification as an inspector is preferred, with demonstrated work experience executing inspection plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; contribute to technical teams; and establish effective working relationships with others is required. 
  • Prior experience managing an inspection team in a machining, welding, or other heavy manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship is required.

    The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $97,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed ‘at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
