Operations Manager – Assembly & Test Facility – BWX Technologies, Inc. – Euclid, OH 

Manage the overall operations for processing high-value electromechanical systems and sub systems at the BWXT Assembly and Test Facility. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership and technical support to assure the highest safety, quality, security, and productivity is consistently achieved. 
  • Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs.
  • Long-term planning to create initiatives that further the company’s overall goals.
  • Champion process improvements & digital transformation initiatives.
  • Manage A&T activities to support throughput requirements. 
  • Manage unique, stand-alone Test Facility, including capital improvements and maintenance.
  • Manage business forecast, proposal, capital, and budget activity.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
  • Manage 4-5 supervisors who oversee 45+ employees including both exempt and non-exempt.
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations’ policies and applicable laws. 
    • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical area or degree with equivalent experience in technical area.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years in leadership in the field or in a related area.
  • Naval Reactors Program experience is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal customers (direct reports, peers, and leadership) and external customers.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Proficient with word-processing, spreadsheet applications, human resource systems, and manufacturing software (MS Word, Excel and SAP preferred.)
  • Experience with relevant electrical safety standards is necessary.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.  

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $128,000 and $189,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed ‘at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.

Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter.
