Primary Function

Lead and coach the SAP BASIS Administrator and our support vendor resources in all day-to-day SAP activities. Provide operational and project support for the multiple components of our mission critical SAP systems, application servers, and non-SAP 3rd party products.

Scope of Responsibility

The SAP BASIS Lead must understand SAP system administration practices for ABAP, JAVA, Business Objects and HANA.  The candidate will also work with senior level staff to define and implement standards and review recommended changes.  The candidate must have been involved in an SAP environment upgrade to S4.  Will also be responsible for enforcement of all SOX IT policies. 

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensure SAP applications are patched regularly
  • Lead the BASIS team
  • Consult on SAP development projects
  • Provide operational and project support
  • Support SAP installation, configuration, and implementation, related to ECC, BW, TM(SCM), PI, Portal, Business Objects, GRC, BPC, SLT & HANA.
  • Support our migration to S4
  • Define and drive best practices in BASIS processes. Measure and report performance KPIs. Plan and execute initiatives. Prepare and publish status reports and performance reports for operations and projects as applicable.
  • Ensure all documentation for active technical configurations is maintained
  • Participate in planning sessions and other related meetings with information technology peers, internal business users and external partners.
  • Manage the Disaster Recovery (DR) Process for the SAP systems including updating of the DR plan, periodic testing, and activation in the event of an emergency.
  • Work with Application and Technical teams to solve day to day operations incidents and requests
  • Lead and assign SAP related project work as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 7+ years of related work experience
  • Exceptional problem solving, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to grasp new technologies
  • Experience migrating to an S4 environment

  • General knowledge for systems integration and vendor management
