The Role

Do you have a passion for program management and agile transformation? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the Director of the Marketing Program Management Office (PMO) role at Lumen.  As the Director of Marketing PMO, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the successful execution of marketing campaigns and programs, as well as championing the adoption of agile methodologies across the organization. You will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of campaigns and programs to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You will also guide and support teams in implementing and improving agile processes, working closely with cross-functional teams to introduce agile principles into project management processes. The Main Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership (40%): Provide strategic direction and leadership for the successful execution of Marketing campaigns and programs.  Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of campaigns and programs to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.  Identify potential risks and challenges to program delivery.
  • Agile Transformation (20%): Champion the adoption of agile methodologies across the organization, promoting agile values, principles and practices, including deploying and managing the supporting infrastructure (e.g., Jira instances).  Guide and support teams in implementing and improving agile processes, working closely with cross-functional teams to introduce agile principles into project management processes.
  • Scrum Management (15%): Oversee and support Scrum Masters in optimizing Scrum processes, facilitating ceremonies, and removing impediments to ensure successful product development.  Lead and mentor Scrum Masters in optimizing scrum practices to enhance team productivity and project success.
  • Resource Management (5%): Effectively manage resources to ensure the right talent is allocated to projects. Work with Marketing VPs and HR and project teams to identify skill requirements and ensure proper staffing for successful execution.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation (5%): Identify potential risks and challenges to program delivery. Develop and implement risk management strategies to proactively address issues and minimize disruptions.
  • Performance Monitoring (5%): Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for program management. Regularly analyze and report on program progress to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement (5%): Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the program management team. Identify opportunities for process enhancement and implement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Talent Development (5%): Support the professional growth and development of program management staff. Provide mentorship, coaching, and training opportunities to nurture their skills and capabilities.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in marketing project management or a related role.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Extensive experience in program management with a successful track record of delivering complex initiatives.
  • Strong expertise in agile methodologies and frameworks, particularly scrum; scrum certification preferred
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a data-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities
  • Experience in resource and budget management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize effectively
  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

 

Location Based Pay Ranges

$128310 – $171080 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.
$135060 – $180080 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.
$141820 – $189090 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.
$148570 – $198090 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

 

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
