Orbital ATK is currently seeking an experienced Designer to join our Design and Engineering team in our Chandler, AZ office.

Role Description & Responsibilities:

The Designer will create models and engineering drawings utilizing Unigraphics NX 9.0 and Teamcenter. Will also be responsible for checking drawing/design packages for proper content and to ensure compliance with applicable industry and military standards. Duties will include checking designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication and be able to perform tolerance analysis. Responsibility will further include liaison with Engineering, Manufacturing, quality, and Materials. Some vendor liaison will be required as well.

Experience Requirements:

• Candidate must have a minimum of two years of related experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be a graduate of a CAD/Drafting/Design/Computer Aided program
• Must be experienced with Unigraphics NX 9.0 and Teamcenter
• Must be experienced with geometric dimensioning and tolerating per ASME Y14.5M-199A
• A working knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and Mil-Standard 100 is also desired.

Experience Preferred:

• Candidate must have a Bachleor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0 years of experience preferred.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Fundamental knowledge of CAD drafting practices.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately while under schedule pressure and exhibit a large degree of patience.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Must be a graduate of a CAD/Drafting/Design/Computer Aided program

Education/Certifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
