We are looking for a highly motivated Operations Team Leader to join our team! The Operations Team Leader (OTL) is responsible for forming, developing, and mentoring the operating team in a value driven, performance-based environment. The OTL also leads the team to achieving key performance indicators and daily performance goals, coordinates activity between shifts and departments and keeps the plant informed about operations performance on a regular basis. The OTL coordinates the activity of up to 35 operations and maintenance team members, captures data & identifies a daily strategy which improves product quality & productivity and facilitates troubleshooting of production problems on a timely basis.
 

What you will do

  • Coordinates team training and activities regarding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), quality, sanitation, maintenance and productivity.
  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding work safety standards according to published Hill’s and Colgate Safety Policy
  • Helps teams translate business needs into daily operations.
  • Applies continuous improvement methodology to drive performance goals
  • Support implementation of Quality Assurance and Food Safety goals.
  • Ensure personnel enforce to Hill’s policies, safety standards, GMP’s, including Quality Assurance and Food Safety.
  • Facilitates a problem-solving environment that values and rewards team member involvement.
  • Coaches team to handle daily activities such as timekeeping, vacation, overtime and attendance.
  • Work with teams to increase innovation, technical expertise, analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Participates in equipment commissioning to ensure effective operationalization and transfer of technology
  • Leads by exhibiting Company values and the principles of Managing with Respect.
  • Benchmarks best practices from existing Supply Chain facilities.
  • Mentors, champions and delivers key training initiatives to establish team social, business and technical skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Availability to work any shift, weekends, holidays and be on call

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous SAP experience
  • Must be proficient with Google Suite: Docs, Slide and Sheets
  • 2+ years Supervisory experience
  • 2+ years Manufacturing experience

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $64,000 – $88,000 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate’s 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
