AGCO is seeking a talented, passionate and highly motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join the Corporate Communications team. As the Corporate Communications Director of External Communications, you will be report directly to the Vice President, Chief Communications Officer, and be responsible for developing and executing external communications strategies across digital applications, social media and traditional media. This director and their team are pivotal in shaping and executing our external communication efforts, ensuring AGCO’s voice is consistently and effectively communicated to the public, media and other stakeholders. The role and the team work in a flexible, hybrid environment.
Your Impact
- Strategic Media & Public Relations Leadership: Spearhead AGCO’s corporate media relations approach to elevate company visibility and reputation. This includes crafting compelling press materials (press releases, fact sheets, talking points), securing placements in top-tier and trade media, managing media inquiries and interviews, building and maintaining relationships with key media and influencers, supporting executive media engagements and overseeing the PR agency of record.
- Corporate Social Media & Thought Leadership: Lead the strategic direction of AGCO’s corporate social media presence, using data analytics and global collaboration to drive engagement and consistency. Develop and implement thought leadership initiatives for key executives to amplify their voice and align with corporate messaging.
- Digital Content & Web Strategy: Direct the content strategy for AGCO’s corporate website and digital platforms, including the Annual Report. Ensure content is compliant, modern and user-centric by collaborating with global stakeholders and leveraging data insights to enhance the digital experience.
- Executive Communications & Crisis Management: Provide strategic communication support to senior leaders, including presentations, messaging and content development. Support crisis communication planning and response to safeguard AGCO’s reputation.
- Team Development & Innovation: Manage and mentor a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability and continuous learning. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure AGCO’s communications remain innovative and effective.
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior communications role – minimum of 12 years – preferably within a corporate environment. Leadership experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or English.
- Knowledge of public relations, social media management, website content management and user experience best practices.
- Superior English writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling and clear messages. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with senior executives and global stakeholders.
- Strong project management, problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately; able to work proactively and independently with urgency and flexibility on multiple assignments while maintaining high-quality results.
- Be forward-thinking and able to seek out and apply new technologies. Comfortable rolling up sleeves to execute within a team, both in-person and with remote contacts.
