JOB PURPOSE

Manage all elements of financial planning and analysis for Americas corporate head office functions including budget/forecast and some balance sheet, capex, cashflow items. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyse financial results with respect to profit, trends, costs and budget/forecast compliance.  Interpret operating results and make specific recommendations that will result in cost reduction and / or profitability improvement.  Issue monthly reports to CFO and other executives.
  • Manage OPEX across all corporate functions: Marketing, VM, Client engagement, Warehouse, HR, IT, Tax, Legal, Construction, Facilities etc.
  • Partner with department and accounting on monthly analysis.
  • Spearhead corporate function people cost forecasting and budget.
  • Oversee all approval requests to Group Finance (IO, PO, Capex Appraisals, cash capex planning etc.)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure visibility into and accuracy of P&L components.
  • Manage analyst to provide analysis and opex management. 
  • Maintain appropriate level of documentation for all FP&A processes as well as partner with the overall finance team in maintaining the requested risks and controls matrixes current and updated.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • 5-8 years of related work experience, with at least 3 years in retail.
  • Extensive experience with managing people to deliver result as a team.
  • Strategic & Tactical Skills:  Ability to set clear, achievable, measurable goals for forecast and LRP
  • Communication and Facilitation Skills:  Ability to facilitate business and finance initiatives through the organization, including meetings for financial planning/reviews and business goals
  • Organizational/multi-tasking Skills:  Ability to plan/prioritize to ensure efficient and timely deliverables; adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Problem Solving Skills:  Ability to coordinate with the senior leadership team to work through operational and finance issues and build consensus toward solutions
  • Superior Microsoft Excel skills; knowledge of SAP or similar system; experience with BPC

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • Mastery OPEX by function and people cost. Understand how each business function operates to challenge and assist in making their spend more efficient
  • Delivering accurate month end close analysis and follow up before week 1 of month end close
  • Provide weekly/monthly opex forecast, people cost KPI and other ad hoc analysis in a timely manner with clarity and accuracy
  • Coach and upskill analysts to progress in their scope

•    Expected base salary for the role will generally be between $130,000.00 and $140,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

•    This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
