  • This position will be responsible for providing program management oversight of large scale initiatives within Flight and Inflight Training operations.  

What you’ll do

  • Oversee large scale initiatives within the Flight Ops, Flight Training, and Inflight Training organizations, starting with implementation of new Training Management System for Pilots and Flight Attendants
  • Collaborate closely with IT, Product Managers, Product Owners and Business Owners to ensure successful implementation
  • Identify risks in implementation schedule and establish solutions
  • Work closely with outside vendors to drive accountability and ensure success
  • Provide regular project updates to Leadership , escalate issues, and drive decisions 
  • Initiate and monitor change management process to ensure our Pilots, Flight Attendants, Instructors, and support groups are prepared for change
  • Identify synergies and efficiencies in systems used by both Inflight and Flight Training groups

All you’ll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field 
  • 3 years experience in Flight Training, Inflight Training, Crew Scheduling, Crew Planning or supporting IT teams

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge of Pilot and Flight Attendant Collective Bargaining Agreements and other related documents
  • Knowledge of airline applications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead based upon the American Airlines leadership model
  • Ability to be flexible and capable of adapting to constant change
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle tasks concurrently
  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work and collaborate with all levels of management and union groups
  • Ability to apply process to system require
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
