Supervisor, Quality Assurance Engineering

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Working level Supervisor that manages the activities of Quality Engineers and Inspectors as matrix resources responsible for Printed Wiring Assembly (PWA) manufacturing, Integration of PWA into Assemblies, and Testing. Develops and maintains adequate staffing to meet Program needs and updates staffing plans for the Quality department. Develop, evaluate, and improve processes related to non-conformances, identifying Root Cause and implementing effective Corrective / Preventative Actions. Perform assessments of Manufacturing & Test processes and implements process improvements. Provides support to Manufacturing, Field Operations, and Supplier Quality in planning activities and Root Cause Corrective Action efforts. Candidate will provide weekly status to the Quality Director and participate in management and program status meetings. Provides annual employee performance reviews for assigned resources.

Required Qualifications: Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business, Technology, or related field, plus at least six (6) years Leadership experience in an aerospace/manufacturing environment. Eight (8) or more years of experience required, working with Launch Vehicle Integration, ERP systems, and Quality Software (e.g. TipQA).

Candidate shall be capable of working independently, demonstrate effective supervisory skills in working with multi-task assignments, interfacing with various engineering disciplines, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidate shall have strong data analysis skills for recommending improvements in data trending and understanding its relationship to Program requirements is essential, including the ability to work directly with internal customers to understand program activity and make recommendations for data collection and reporting solutions.

Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidate shall possess related experience working with electrical and mechanical assemblies, PWA processes, and system and subassembly testing. Candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated issues both technical and procedural.

Experience with CostPoint and/or Impromptu, HTML experience is desired. Strength in working with customers, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and design engineering with missile or launch vehicle systems is highly desired. Work related experience should demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility. Extensive Root Cause and Problem Solving experience is highly desirable.
