Orbital ATK has an opening for a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer in Chandler, AZ. US Citizenship is required. Active Secret Clearance is required.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of twenty years of experience and proficiency in the following areas:

– Experience with complex integrated (hardware and firmware) avionics component level design and testing. Troubleshooting experience using test hardware and software is required. Applicant should be able to set up and write automated test scripts for test equipment.

– Design expertise with multiple types of programmable logic (CPLD’s, FPGA’s) and associated development tools and methodology typically using VHDL. Applicant shall have an extensive knowledge of large FPGAs using VHDL and with functional verification testing.

– Extensive circuit board design background utilizing Power PC processors and FPGAs.

-Design experience in analog circuit design, including DC motor interface, PWM of motors and solenoid based systems, FETs, opto isolator circuits, DCDC converters, analog to digital converters, Lithium Ion Battery charging and discharging, etc.

– Expertise in digital circuit design, knowledge of various industry standard signal technologies and interface standards such as IEEE 802.3, 1553B, RS-422 and RS-485.

– Applicant should be familiar with EEE parts utilization, derating analysis similar to MIL-HDBK-1547A and specifications for all part types.

– Experience preferred with Cadence 16 or newer schematic capture tools.

– Experience with all phases of PCB design: including initial design requirements, design partitioning, component selection, technical data package generation, PCB layout, assembly, testing, user documentation and deployment.

– Experience with ESD and EMI principles and system grounding concepts.

– Effective verbal and written communications skills.

– Working understanding of project level requirements, constraints and budgets
