Privacy Counsel (EMEA)

Location: UK, Ireland or Netherlands – Hybrid / Home Based

Position Summary:

Bentley Systems is hiring a Privacy Counsel to join our growing Corporate Responsibility team. Reporting to the Global Data Protection Officer in Dublin, Ireland; the Privacy Counsel will support Bentley’s global privacy compliance program, counsel key stakeholders on privacy and security laws, and support the work of Bentley’s privacy team.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Provide day-to-day privacy legal support.
• Draft and negotiate data protection terms in contracts and disclosures, including Data Protection contracts.
• Providing counsel on data privacy and security laws, regulations, and industry best practices, particularly related to software and cloud services.
• Help develop and maintain Bentley’s privacy program, and related policies, procedures, documentation, and communication materials.
• Help develop training materials and provide training to employees on privacy and security related obligations and further develop our privacy and data protection practices in the EU and globally.

What You Bring to The Team:

• European, UK, or Irish qualified lawyer.
• 3+ years of post-qualification experience in data privacy, security, and compliance.
• Expertise in advising on global compliance frameworks.
• Expertise in UK and EU data protection law.
• Experience with technology, cloud services, marketing and analytics laws, and regulation.
• Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability and confidence to represent Bentley in the area of data privacy and security.
• Highly responsive and reactive attitude.
• Collaborative teammate with ability to work independently.
• In-house experience is a plus.
• Fluency in multiple languages a plus.
• CIPP or privacy specific certifications is a plus.
