National Account Manager

Overview

You will be a key member of the Applied National Accounts team focused on driving growth for one of Applied’s top customers. The ideal candidate will use organization, communication, and analytical skills to build and expand our business in the account and to implement contracts with new member companies. Although this position is posted in Atlanta, the right candidate may live in any major city in the Midwest, Southeast or Texas!

 

  • Assist with RFQs (request for quotes) directly from customer members and from the service centers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and product education to customers and help to form an overall streamline of processes between the customer members and our service center locations.
  • Multi-task and handle the large volume of questions that arise from both Applied Service Centers and the customer members.
  • Roll out contract to new customer members and ensure seamless transition onto the contract.
  • Handle a large amount of data and filtering for specific results related to the following metrics: backorder review, on-time delivery, response time analytics, error free, efficient sourcing, and inventory management (standard, committed, stock outs).
  • Identify opportunities for increased efficiencies and proactively identify and carry out continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Manage all Applied service centers who are servicing customer member companies based on performance metrics, talent needs/headcount, personnel issues, and customer relationship perception.
  • Implement and mandate compliance with best practices for the account.
  • Streamline communication processes within the account.
  • Perform and report results of customer member Plant Quality Audits.
  • Analyze results of service center/customer member Plant Quarterly Reviews.  Document issues and positive reports for future reference.
  • Coach, train, and mentor Applied associates who service the account.
  • Write and deliver presentations and prepare reports as necessary.
  • Generate, document, and manage value-added ROI for your customers

Required:         

  • 5+ years selling industrial components as well as value added services and solutions, with proven metrics / results
  • Excel proficiency including macros, charts, and pivot tables
  • Use of proper English grammar, written and verbal
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • National account experience
  • Presentation skills to executive level personnel
