The Corporate Technology Center (CTC) is the innovative nucleus of the organization. The CTC is charged with discovering, innovating, and developing the next big breakthroughs for A. O. Smith Water Treatment Engineering Co-op program allows you to apply the skills and knowledge you’re learning in college while contributing to exciting, real-world and industry specific projects. We will provide hands-on experience to fit your career objectives, complement your academic work, and enhance your learning.
This role is an excellent opportunity for co-operative education students who are passionate about clean water, water treatment, and prefer gaining hands-on experience under the leadership of senior researchers and engineers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of water filtration system for water treatment.
- Read test request and communicate with other lab staff and engineers to setup tests.
- Preparing challenge water with organic and inorganics contaminants for filtration systems.
- Following test request to operate tests. Effectively communicate on test status.
- Water sample preparation and analysis of various inorganic and organic contaminants.
- Assist lab staff and engineers in solving issues in tests.
- Biological sample propagation, plating, counting, and disposal.
- Input data to the system and prepare reports as necessary to update project status.
- Following lab 5S regulations to clean and organize laboratory
Qualifications
Qualifications
- A minimum of a sophomore standing and the ability to co-op for at least 3 terms.
- Adaptability and ability to learn quickly in high-pressure environments
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday for 12 weeks
- Willingness and ability to give presentations to colleagues, managers, and directors
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications-MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Comfortable working with confidential information
