The EMEA Tax Manager leads tax compliance, provisioning, team leadership and process improvement across EMEA, while partnering proactively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders in a complex, fast-paced multinational environment.
What will your job look like?
- Reporting to senior tax leadership, the EMEA Tax Manager owns the EMEA tax agenda end to end, covering tax compliance and provisioning, governance, people leadership and strategic improvement initiatives.
- Owning tax compliance across EMEA, covering corporate income tax, VAT/indirect taxes and transfer pricing, and ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness across all entities in scope.
- Owning tax provisioning and reporting, including quarterly and annual provisions, disclosures, and sign-off for statutory financial statements and US GAAP group reporting.
- Lead and develop the tax team, with clear accountability, strong governance and an inclusive culture focused on performance, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the main escalation point for EMEA tax matters, owning issue resolution, audit defence and interaction with tax authorities across jurisdictions.
- Manage a complex workload, prioritising effectively across compliance, audits, projects and strategic initiatives.
- Drive process improvement, including standardisation, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, quality, controls and insight across tax compliance and reporting.
- Manage relationships with external advisors, ensuring quality, value for money and delivery against agreed scope and budgets.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Controllership, Treasury, Legal, HR and the wider business, to provide clear, practical and commercially aware tax guidance.
- Plan, manage and deliver the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the EMEA tax function, including workload planning, resource alignment, initiative prioritisation and budget management.
- Stay ahead of legislative and regulatory changes across EMEA, assess impacts and turn them into actionable company responses.
- Qualified tax or accounting professional (e.g. ACA, ACCA, AITI or equivalent).
- Experience in an international technology or similarly complex multinational environment is an advantage.
All you need is…
- 8-10+ years’ experience in corporate tax in a multinational environment and/or professional practice, with strong EMEA tax exposure.
- Proven experience owning tax compliance, provisioning and audit management.
- Proven people leader with experience building, managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptionally organised, with a strong ability to manage broad, evolving workloads across multiple jurisdictions and deadlines.
- Strong experience in process improvement and transformation, including technology, automation and AI-enabled solutions in finance or tax.
- AI-aware and AI-positive mindset, with the ability to identify responsible uses of AI to improve accuracy, efficiency and insight.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
