Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

This position supports the operations team by implementing and sustaining all training initiatives within the DC operations.  The Training Supervisor will provide direction to the Training Leads and assist the Training Manager in driving performance excellence.

Key Responsibilities: 
•    Create training plans to drive process compliance standardization
•    Work with manager to implement and enforce all OSHA standards, as well as, warehouse rules/regulations
•    Oversee, train and certify all personnel on the safe operation of equipment, including PIT
•    Provide leadership for the Training Leads to maintain the consistency and spirit of process training
•    Manage the day to day activities of the Training Leads
•    Continually equip Training Leads with coaching and developing the Letterman (OJT’s)
•    Conduct train-the-trainer sessions and remediation training as needed
•    Provide Training Manager with data regarding, training hours, audit scores, number of trainees/cross-trained, and project updates and status
•    Assist manager with the cross-training initiatives
•    Align with Training Manager in Designing and developing training courses to meet specific facility needs
•    Facilitate courses and/or learning sessions for all associates and leadership as needed
•    Administrative tasks as needed:  printing and organizing learning materials, tracking training rosters, managing training calendar, etc
•    Oversee the training matrix ensuring all training rosters are tracked and recorded
•    Conduct needs assessments, document findings and develop actionable results
•    Maintain visibility on the operations floor to maintain process knowledge and identify gaps in skills, training approach, etc
•    Support the creation and implementation of SOPs, Audit Sheets and One Point Lessons under the direction of the Training Manager
•    Ability to develop and share best practices with other DC Supervisors
•    Perform all other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
•    Fluent in English, both oral and written.  Also being fluent in Spanish is preferred
•    Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts as needed to support a 21 hour/day – 7 day/week operation
•    Demonstrated knowledge of handling heavy-duty PIT vehicles and strong safety awareness
•    Proven facilitation and presentation skills
•    Ability to work collaboratively within a large group of co-workers
•    Positive and enthusiastic approach 
•    Ability to supervise in a fast-paced distribution environment while maintaining an eye for detail and accuracy
•    Self-motivated to prioritize, coordinate and complete projects within tight deadlines
•    Proficiency with MS Office (including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint) and Warehouse Management Systems


Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
•    regularly required to talk or hear; stand or walk; use fingers, hands and arms to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, push and pull for up to ten (10) hours/day
•    able to work in a warehouse environment 
•    able to reliably attend work/scheduled hours
•    occasionally required to sit; bending, twisting, climb or balance; lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to forty (40) pounds; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. College Degree Preferred or equivalent education and experience 
  2. Minimum of two (2) years related distribution experience 
  3. Three (3) plus years supervising, (in a training function – preferred) in a fast pace operation environment
  4. An equivalent combination of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
