Job Description

At Sabre Hospitality we're excited as we're scaling new heights with our partnerships with some of the top hotel chains in the world while we build the industry's first and only integrated Full-Service Property Management Platform (FS-PMS) on Cloud with a micro-services architecture.  Our PMS products are being used by thousands of properties world-wide, already. The FS-PMS Platform is being built as a ground-up distributed system (high scale, highly available, durability of data and so on) both from technology and business perspective.
Sabre Hospitality is looking for a talented Sr. Engineering Manager to join the team to accelerate this journey.
What will you achieve?
•    Lead a team of talented leads and engineers to develop and enhance one of the largest Hospitality Platform in the industry.
•    Lead programs and releases for a mission critical Property Management System that’s being used by some of the largest hotel conglomerates in the world.
•    Plan upcoming releases by collaborating with Product Managers, Product Owners, Program Managers, Senior leadership and other teams within Sabre.
•    Be on top of things and keep all the stakeholders, including customers, well communicated about the progress and delivery of product releases.
•    By driving a quality-first approach, ensure the stability of the production and other customer facing environments for near 100% availability. 
•    Mentor teams on technical areas such as best coding practices, architecture/design reviews, code reviews, security practices, automation and so on.

Job Requirements

Skills
•    Strong prior hands-on experience of Java stack preferably in Cloud-based enterprise applications 
•    Strong background of designing/implementing mid-to-large enterprise applications: OOD, design patterns, SOLID, RESTful/Web services.
•    Comfortable working with relational databases specifically on SQL. Fair knowledge of AWS or GCP with Linux environment.
•    Ability to manage multiple parallel releases and programs in a fast-paced environment with teams distributed across the globe. 
•    Good knowledge of Scrum development practices. You'll be accountable to about 5-6 scrum teams.
Background
•    12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in a product development company. Start-up experience is a big plus.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. 
•    You’ve been part of building at least one large scale enterprise system and possess end-to-end knowledge.
•    You should be able to do hands-on coding and design, as and when required OR at least possess enough knowledge to coach the team in these areas.
•    You’ve been an evangelist for engineering best practices, guidelines, avoiding “code smells”, near 100% tangible unit test coverage, maximum code-reuse and so on.
