Long Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Specialist – Scientific for our European Sales team (Biologics Testing Solutions)


Within your function as Senior Sales Specialist for our Biologics Testing Solutions division, you will join a team of sales specialists who report to our European Sales Manager (who is located in Spain). The main focus of your activities will be to increase the sales of our biologics testing services to existing and new clients in designated EU territories. The candidate will be responsible for sales in the UK but this territory might be adjusted depending on the team needs.

The candidate must be able and willing to travel frequently on business to discuss both regulatory and technical issues with your clients both on-site as well as at trade shows. You will be responsible for the preparation, review and follow-up of proposals, contracts, market analyses, accurate territory forecasts and reports. This involves close cooperation with internal project management and operations at our and global sites. The candidate will collaborate with Key Account Managers and Global Account Managers to make sure key accounts are developed.

The candidate will participate in internal meetings where sales performance results and the strategy of the company is discussed.

The following are minimum requirements related to the Sales Specialist position:

This position would suit an ambitious, flexible and team-orientated individual who enjoys the selling process and who is motivated to achieve results.  You will also be expected to have:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (biology, biotechnology, chemistry or equivalent). An advanced degree (MS, Ph.D.) in a biopharmaceutical science (molecular biology, virology, bioprocessing, etc.) is desirable.
  • Significant selling experience with a service company in the biotech sector, CMO or CRO. Practical lab experience with a biotech/pharma company would be a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of GMP and current ICH, FDA & EMA regulations
  • Firsthand knowledge of the EU biotech/pharma sector
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • A willingness to travel (at least 40% of your time)
  • International experience
  • Flexible, agile and positive attitude / mind-set
