Overview

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The purpose of Corporate Treasury is to manage the company’s liquidity, solvency and financial market risks. 

The Senior Director Corporate Funding manages liquidity for the Company to ensure sufficient funds are available to operate the business on a global basis at all times. The responsibilities include funding through bank borrowing or capital market transactions, and forecasting/planning of the Company’s cash flows, advise on the capital structure and consult with subsidiaries on cash and funding issues including dividends as well as drive the Company’s stock repurchase program. In addition, global bank relationship management as well as managing the Rating Agencies.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

•    Contribute to development of Treasury- and Financing strategy 
•    Ensure ongoing compliance to and maintenance of Financial Policy
•    Manage/supervise cash flow forecasting and stock repurchases.
•    Focal point for global bank relationship management, incl. supervision of bank relationship database and global credit lines
•    Counterpart for Rating Agencies, responsible for maintaining relationships to the agencies and for delivering and explaining quarterly and yearly numbers to the agencies
•    Global leader for all funding activities, including Debt Capital Markets and Equity Capital Markets
•    Negotiate legal agreements related to funding activities
•    Maintain and update debt and financial covenants
•    Administer funding programs, including Commercial Paper and Medium-Term Notes programs
•    Manage stock repurchases
•    Optimize funding of subsidiaries via intercompany funding, dividend plans, capital contributions, intercompany payment terms, netting balances
•    Construct, approve and monitor parent and bank guarantees worldwide
•    Focal point for Master Agreements with financial institutions
•    Forecast and manage the Company’s net interest expense, aligning tax impacts with Corporate Tax
•    Ensure global financial discipline for cash flow management and monitor adherence to Treasury policies
•    Monitor and define measures to optimize the Company’s Working Capital 
•    Treasury advisory for functional and business issues/projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
•    Demonstrate extensive and deep knowledge of accounting and legal framework for financial derivatives, financial investments and capital markets 
•    Solid understanding of global financial markets and instruments
•    Ability to coach, guide, manage, and develop (project) teams
•    Excellent communication skills in order to negotiate with internal and/or external parties with divergent interests and with different business areas
•    Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

•    University Degree in Business Administration/Finance/Controlling – MBA is highly appreciated
•    CFA level 3 or equivalent skills
•    International experience
•    Minimum of 12 years of experience in Corporate Treasury/Corporate Banking
•    Fluency in English (written and spoken); German is a plus
•    IT Treasury system skills
•    Knowledge of Accounting and Controlling issues related to Treasury activities 
•    Minimum of 5 years management experience required
