Job Summary
Provides clerical and administrative support to the designated department. Coordinates office functions, schedules exams and procedures. Answers telephone and transfers to appropriate person or takes messages.

Essential Functions

  • Provides clerical and administrative support to the designated department.
  • Communicates information between staff members, physicians, other departments, patients and their families.
  • Answers the telephone and routes call appropriately or takes message.
  • Completes computer data entry requirements.

Physical Requirements
Work may require sitting for extended periods of time; squat and kneel occasionally; bend, reach or twist frequently, push, pull, lift and carry up to 10 pounds; finger dexterity. Works in a fast-paced office setting. Work requires good concentration, mobility, and ability to make sound decisions at a rapid pace. Must be physically able to move around the office.

Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Previous secretarial experience or background in medical terminology preferred. Minimal knowledge of medical terminology, biology, and human anatomy. Simple office procedures such as typing, telephone etiquette and filing.
