This is a multi-hire requisition, and will be used to fill multiple vacancies.
This is a temporary, professional position in the Florida Department of Health in [COUNTY] that will provide epidemiological support to local COVID-19 response.
Incumbent must professionally interact with health care providers as well as community members of diverse social, economic and cultural characteristics. Incumbent will request and have regular access to a wide range of protected health information and must follow all laws and policies on accessing and sharing such data. Incumbent must understand and effectively communicate the current guidelines on infectious periods, exposure risks, isolation protocols, and emergency warning signs. Excellent written and verbal communication are required.
Scheduled work may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Specific duties may include:
- Gathering and reporting comprehensive information on patients diagnosed with COVID-19 and their close contacts
- Using available systems to trace contacts, discovering missing information where possible in order to identify and communicate with those individuals
- Assisting with data analysis and reports
- Assisting with community testing event logistics as directed
Preference will be given to those with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related field.
