What’s special about this job:


The Paper Products Plant produces cartons and labels for Amway’s core products. This team works to produce most of our ABO literature to grow their business and showcase Amway products. They are focused on consistent and dependable delivery of high-quality products for our global customer base while collaborating cross-functionally with our creative business partners.  As an Off-Set Press Operator Assistant, you will be part of a 3-person crew working on an off-set press, producing sheet fed folding cartons and ABO literature. This is a 2nd shift position reporting to the Group Leader. This position will require employees to be available Monday through Saturday with the department determining which days will comprise the work week based upon production and scheduling demands.


How you would contribute to the role:


In this role, you will monitor and coordinate the operations of an offset printing press. This will include the preparation of paper stock, set-up of the press, securing plates, ink and stock specified on job ticket.  You will also position and register plates, adjust feeding/receiving mechanisms. You will mix ink to specified L*a*b color standards, as necessary. In addition, you will assist in troubleshooting, maintaining and making minor repairs to equipment, and working closely with your team to meet customer demands. Your mechanical and troubleshooting skills, along with your focus on quality will be highly valued in this role.


What skills and background will be important to be successful:

  • High School diploma, with one year of experience with an offset press or other printing operation
  • Willingness to flow to the work and be trained in all aspects of offset printing workflow
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to differentiate color and hues (color test may be required)
  • Ability to recognize and assist with improvement initiatives and follow GMP requirements
