Master Data Coordinator

Master Data Coordinator provides Master Data Services to Corning corporate and its subsidiaries as defined by CoE service level. Maintain Corning corporate master data in defined systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy at source.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Corning corporate master data in defined systems to include: Vendor, Customer, Accounts, Department, Business Units, Product Code, Projects, Items, System Access and associated hierarchies
  • Ensure process, policies and procedures are being adhered to at all times
  • Validate and enter data in different ERP systems (e.g. SAP, PeopleSoft) as defined by set policies and procedures
  • Prepare and sort source documents, identify and interpret data to be entered
  • Contact originators or approvers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data
  • Detect data discrepancies and make necessary corrections
  • Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered
  • Keep record of work completed and customer communications
  • Interact with multiple users for obtaining sign-offs on data
  • Prepare regular and special periodic reports
  • Audit data for consistency and adherence to policy
  • Work with all levels of finance, procurement, and sales organizations to complete work
  • Train new people in group and work with customers to ensure adherence to the defined processes



  • 2 years + applicable experience working with Master Data and /or transaction processing (ideally in a shared services environment) is an advantage
  • A general understanding of financial applications and Master Data Management
  • Strong knowledge of desktop applications (MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Reliability and personal integrity
