Development of Beamforming and Massive MIMO radio system architectures for existing 4G wireless standards and developing 5GNR systems.
Define and capture wireless product performance, interfaces, and environmental requirements. Interpret wireless standards and plays a key role in product requirements formulation.
Define calibration strategy, techniques and algorithms for Active Antenna Arrays. Perform analysis and simulation of proposed algorithms using Matlab/Simulink in order to ensure required beamforming performance.
Contribute to product architecture and partition functions to sub-assemblies, including optimization of functional partitioning between DSP, mixed signal, and RF sub-sections. Allocate and document the requirements of product sub-assemblies.
Perform analysis and simulation of RF chain, MIMO, and beamforming behavior from baseband through the antenna, including CFR and DPD to appropriately scale power amplifier and antenna characteristics.
Conduct trade studies and analyses to optimize product cost, size, weight, and power consumption while meeting requirements with adequate margin for high yield in production.
Define the product DVT, engineering test, and production test requirements, with specific focus on Over-The-Air tests for beamforming validation.
Master of Science or PhD in Electrical Engineering with an experience of 12 years direct
Experience in active and adaptive beamforming RF systems.
Experience with Antenna Array calibration techniques for digital beamforming technology.
Experience with linearization techniques for power amplifiers.
Familiar with digital signal processing algorithms for 4G/5G wireless transceivers, including lower PHY processing.
Experience with Matlab/Simulink tools.
Understanding of receiver and transmitter functional blocks and capabilities including antennas, power amplifiers, filters, duplexers, oscillators, frequency converters, modulators, and demodulators. Understanding of corresponding impairments (thermal noise, phase noise, non-linearities, PIM, group delay, intermodulation, spurious) and impacts.
Experience in link budget analysis, chain analysis, EVM analysis, and throughput analysis.
Experience in analyzing high level system requirements to extract block level hardware and software level requirements.
Knowledge of wireless infrastructure architectures and air interface standards including LTE and 5GNR.
Skilled in thorough documentation of requirements and architectures and presentation of radio architecture concepts.
