Applied Industrial Technologies LP is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada. We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Hydraulic Technician/Mechanic in our Delta, BC branch.

 

*We will be relocating to Port Kells in December 2024/January 2025. Candidates should consider this during the application process*

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Inspection, repair and testing of Pumps, Motors, Valves, Cylinders and all related FP components.
  • Failure analysis, condition reporting.
  • System Troubleshooting both in shop and field setting
  • Complete work and test reports according to quality systems and procedures.
  • Cylinder honing and lapping of critical parts
  • Help Assess and quote jobs
  • Perform repair services to the highest trade standards
  • Ensure adherence to quoted and specified scope of work, component supply and customer requirements
  • Travel throughout Saskatchewan for field service work roughly 4 days per month
  • Use manuals to determine parts required for repair

Preference will be given to candidates who possess some or all the following qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years experience in shop setting in hydraulic industry or industrial type setting
  • General fluid power product/system knowledge
  • Millwright or heavy duty mechanic training an asset
  • Customer service oriented
  • Proven system troubleshooting
  • Field Service experience
  • Proven ability in overhaul/reconditioning/performance testing of hydraulic components including fixed and variable displacement pumps and motors; open and closed loop systems; manual, solenoid-operated, proportional and servo valving; hydraulic cylinders; filtration; hose and pipe assemblies
  • Organize and work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and a good attitude
  • Highly skilled technical and mechanical ability with proficiency in use of all hand tools, machinery, diagnostic and performance testing equipment associated with hydraulic service, manufacture and installation
  • The ability to communicate knowledgeably and professionally with clients, suppliers and internal personnel.
  • Versatility and willingness to learn new methods and product to suit changing technology and customer demands as required.
  • Have own supply of common hand tools for completing job function
  • Ability to work safely, lead by example and contribute to overall company safety

Compensation may/will vary depending on experience, qualifications, and expertise, however, the ideal candidate may see a compensation range between $40.00/hour and $46.00/hour.
