Clinical Research Manager for the Department of Medicine Research Program

Manages/oversees team of Clinical Research Coordinators and Nurses. Responsible for day-to-day and annual performance management. Responsible for coordinating recruitment, training, staff development, and scheduling for CRC/Ns within research unit. 

•    Tracks and monitors trial metrics for active studies such as screening, enrollment, and screen failures. Proactively identifies obstacles to enrollment and works with study team to resolve study issues. 
•    Compiles invoiceable activity for trials within research unit in collaboration with study team. Assists Clinical Trial Financial Specialist and Clinical Trials Director with trial budget monitoring. 
•    Assists Clinical Trials Director with workload planning and staff resource management.
•    Serves as study team member on trials within research unit in order to provide trial oversight and assist back-up CRC/Ns with emergency study coverage. 
•    Participates in educational planning for monthly CRC/N staff meetings.
•    Assists Clinical Trials Director and Clinical Trials Financial Specialist with CTMS/Epic study builds and other start up activities, as needed.
•    Supports the Clinical Trials Director with the leadership of the Clinical Research Team.

What We Require:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, science, or related field required. Master’s degree in related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a clinical trial/research setting AND a master’s degree in a related field OR Minimum of six (6) years of experience in a clinical trial/research setting AND a bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Prior clinical trial and/or staff management experience preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) preferred upon hire. Will be required to obtain a research certification within one (1) year of hire if not previously obtained.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work with diverse community of people and relate to wide variety of professional levels. Advanced knowledge of human subjects research regulations. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills. Adaptability to adjust to changing priorities and ability to process large volumes of information. Highly organized. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Strong leadership skills desired.
