We are now recruiting for a passionate Cellar Door Manager at our Rolf Binder Cellar Door. In this role you will mange the cellar door, building and implementing the strategic direction for the Rolf Binder Cellar Door team.

As our Cellar Door operates seven days per week, this role involves regular weekend work as well as occasional evening work. 

 

This role is full-time.

 

Please note: This role is a 9-month fixed term contract.
 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Ensure all staff demonstrate the highest standards of customer service excellence, providing a unique luxury and informative experience to every guest visiting the award-winning Rolf Binder cellar door
  • Execute sales strategies and manage discretionary marketing and pricing to achieve assigned financial targets
  • Manage budgeted operating expenses, trading costs, samples costs and stock holdings to agreed levels
  • Actively develop and manage onsite functions and events to ensure the facilities at Rolf Binder are well utilised, working with local partners and key stakeholders as appropriate
  • Actively seek out opportunities for the Cellar Door to participate in community and regional activities and events to drive visitation, and be an active member of local industry groups and community organisations
     

What you’ll bring:

 

  • 2+ years’ experience managing a cellar door, hospitality venue, restaurant or event facility, including management of financial performance, people and facilities.
  • Confident leadership style, strong people management skills, and a professional approach, demonstrating flexibility and ownership
  • Knowledge of the Barossa region and its offering to visitors, as well as Australian fine wine varietals and styles
  • Intermediate computer literacy (MS Office suite, POS systems, ecommerce platforms) and basic financial literacy 
  • Understanding of employee relations and WHS principles in a cellar door environment
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol accreditation and a valid driver’s licence (required). 
  • Qualifications in a wine-related or hospitality-related discipline (desirable).
