Hill’s Pet Nutrition Canada, a division of Colgate Palmolive, stands as a premier manufacturer of high-quality, science-based pet food. We are actively looking for an OMNI Channel Business Account Manager (BAM) who will be responsible for driving accelerated growth of the Hill’s Science Diet brand, focused on growing the Quebec Pet Specialty Channel. This individual will be managing select Pet Specialty Chain customers in Quebec and Eastern Ontario, as well as managing operations between Hill’s and Hill’s exclusive Eastern Canada Retail Distributor, Pet Science. 

 

The BAM’s focus is building profitable net sales, market share, share of shelf, and distribution in the customers within Eastern Canada. The BAM will drive partnership and execution with our Eastern Distributor Pet Science, through cross-functional execution, including supply chain planning/management, and marketing collaboration. In addition, the BAM will be responsible for managing all aspects of the business and relationship with Key Large Format multi-store Retailers, as well as key Neighborhood Pet Specialty retail chains. In addition this responsibility will include building the strategy to drive growth in the unique Quebec Independent Neighborhood Pet channel. The BAM will also stay abreast of the market and competitive climate to ensure appropriate actions take place to drive the business within their channel. 

 

What You Will Do:

Implement and execute strategies and tactics within their customers to deliver profitable growth in the Pet Retail Omni Channel: 

  • Liaise with Retail customer contacts and manage relationships 
  • Work within gross-to-net and advertising and promotional budgets 
  • Execute 6P tactics to drive brand share growth in-store 
  • Create, drive, and manage plans, programs, and events with key customers
  • Monitor through Financial post-analysis 
  • Ensure execution at field level through communication 
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, PVA, and CS&L
  • Drive eCommerce sales within the Omni Channel
  • Develop and execute customer specific plans to achieve Hill’s commercial goals
  • Leverage national programs to drive Hill’s Science Diet BRMO and market share with Qc Pet Specialty Retail

Retail Environment Strategy development and execution 

  • Develop and execute annual strategic plans and initiatives to achieve the commercial goals. 
  • Engage customers on category growth expectations. Present strategic plans at key business reviews and annual budget review meetings. 
  • Customize National programs for the province of Quebec, partnering with Hill’s cross functional teams, leveraging brand strategies to drive growth. 
  • Execute sales plans and resolve issues through both the customer and internal commercial teams, including customer home office 
  • Build and maintain a Business Planner to reflect baseline sales and promotion plans. Manage customer payments. 
  • Develop category and brand solutions for each customer that will drive the Hill’s business.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent 
  • 5+ years of Sales experience, with experience with eCommerce preferred 
  • 5+ years Key Account management calling on the Head Offices of strategic customers *General Field Sales experience as Territory Manager or Regional/District Sales Manager 
  • Must have bilingual proficiency in English AND French

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong commercial experience developing and executing strategic customer joint business plans at a Head Office level 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Excellent business presentation skills 
  • Strong influence and negotiations skills to drive win-win solutions with persistence and respect 
  • Adept at finding common ground, identifying vital interests and understanding the customer’s underlying priorities *Strong computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, and Word 
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze and develop actionable insights and recommendations that result in profitable volume consumption growth 
  • Manages ambiguity and strategizes solutions for the customer’s business and quickly develops alternative plans as needed with minimal supervision. 
  • A self-starter who works effectively across functions, channels, and categories to align priorities, solve problems, optimize resources, and drive effective execution
