CityLine is looking to hire a highly-creative Associate Producer, responsible for rundown and content creation of a weekly show, working closely with a roster of Canada’s top lifestyle experts. The ideal candidate is a jack of all trades, is nimble and eager to stay ahead of the trends, and takes pride in being able to make things happen, from conception to delivery. You must have a genuine obsession with lifestyle content – from DIYs, home décor to food, fashion and more. Execution of high calibre content is a must.

 Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Reporting to the Supervising Producer, the Associate Producer will take ownership of one show per week, working closely with a roster of Canada’s top lifestyle experts
  • Relationship management, working with on-air experts to develop industry leading lifestyle content
  • Provide creative and practical input during all phases of production
  • Demonstrate creative thought leadership, keeping ahead of the trends and providing inspiration for the show
  • Pitch original story ideas to Supervising Producer
  • Conduct interviews with range of interview subjects, always with compelling final video product in mind
  • Strong storytelling capabilities with a passion for finding characters and stories that are emotional and visual gold
  • Own the video creation process from pitch to post-production (ideas, scripting, interviews, asset gathering, music selection, prep for editing)
  • Develop digital-first pieces with a compelling aesthetic, attention to detail and creativity
  • The role may require you to lend your expertise on-camera 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a broadcast television environment
  • Strong editorial judgement and organization skills are critical, along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure
  • A sound understanding and experience with all elements of the production process
  • Experience in a studio production environment
  • Broadcasting degree or diploma (or equivalent) is preferred
  • Strong narrative storytelling and script writing skills
  • Must be collaborative, have strong interpersonal skills and be an excellent communicator
  • Comfortable handling many projects simultaneously and working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • You have a deep understanding of the Cityline brand and of what goes into creating engaging content for our viewers
  • Working knowledge of digital media tools and technologies (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, TikTok)
