This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time.  The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities


As a VDV Engineer for Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, IA, you will….


  • Develop and correlate Discrete Element Modeling (DEM) to virtually validate and improve function of machines
  • Develop methods to quantify DEM results to compare design solutions
  • Develop and correlate FEA models to virtually validate and improve durability of machines
  • Work with product engineers to determine solutions for issues identified through virtual and physical testing

What Skills You Need


  • Knowledge and understanding of crop flow through agricultural products
  • 2 or more years of product development experience in design or testing
  • Familiarity with computer aided design tools; Creo preferred

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Strong mechanical background demonstrating the ability to understand and model systems in analysis tools
  • 2 or more years of simulation & analysis experience (FEA, DEM, CFD, and/or DSM (Dynamic Systems Modeling))
  • Knowledge and understanding of crop flow through Hay and Forage products



Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Agricultural/Biosystems)
