Overview

Marathon Petroleum is accepting resumes for an Electronic & Instrumentation Technician within the Terminals organization and will be based out of Findlay, OH. This technician will be responsible for maintaining the electronic and control equipment at MPC and MPLX owned light products and asphalt terminals.  This technician will provide the expertise to repair, replace, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on terminal equipment that is beyond terminal operations personnel expected capabilities.  Typical equipment that is maintained by the technician include: Terminal Automation System, electronic presets, tank gauging, high-level alarm systems, PLCs, flow meters, card readers, touch screens, and more.  

 

This position but may be expected to travel to other locations as required to meet business needs.  On-call and overtime may be required, which would include after business hours, weekends, and holidays. This position will be provided with continuous training to continue developing job related skills. A successful person in this position will be collaborative, reliable, motivated, and prioritize safety. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service through effective communication with various stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.
  • Perform beta testing of changes prior to the final release into production.  This testing will be completed on the Shop simulators which you will be required to maintain.
  • Repair, test, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment both in the shop and at the terminals.
  • Work with and direct field resources, both company and contract, to make repairs and implement projects.
  • Maintain full inventory management of critical spare parts, supplies, and materials for our terminals.
  • Provide in person and virtual training on supported equipment.

 

Qualifications

2 years in related field preferred

Terminal operations, trade electrician, degree or experience in the field of electrical, electronic, or PLC programming is preferred. Intermediate knowledge with Windows based PCs and smart phone technology is required.
