Orbital ATK is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Material Planner to join our team in Clearfield, UT.

• Plans, prepares, issues requisitions and supports program or production schedules via MRP, ERP, and visual signal for material and service requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials and services timed to meet program requirements.
• Identifies and facilitates raw material, component, services, subcontracting and consulting requirements for programs or production schedules.
• This may include planning of machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, and services and supplies necessary for the program’s operation.
• Will be expected to interface with contracts administration, quality, finance, procurement, supply chain and program management to ensure program compliance.
• Qualified candidate will coordinate with internal customers and through business integrated systems to ensure appropriate scheduling, procurement, and movement of materials and services.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Candidate must have the ability to deal with internal and external customers in a professional manner. Position will require strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, situational awareness, process improvement/problem solving approach, and robust problem solving skills in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Experience should include robust understanding and experience in the elements of material requirements planning and ERP systems.

The ability to analyze and execute material and operational planning requirements including but not limited to: shelf life materials, material and manufacturing lead times/cycle times, inventory turns and inventory management, best in class material management and distribution practices, min/max planning parameters, creating and managing material requisitions, establishing optimal order quantities and strategic planning criteria, FIFO, input to master scheduling and production scheduling for material availability, material consumption actuals and trends, reporting manufacturing bill of material variances based on actuals (order and consumption), creating efficiency metrics and reports, and creating material forecasts.

Candidate should be capable of completing analysis of statistical data to determine feasibility of planning parameters and to establish price objectives. This would include: cost price analysis, inventory analysis and make buy recommendations to program management.

Prefer experience in writing and/or management of material management procedures.

Experience should also include audit exposure from both government and commercial agencies. Including but not limited to: Sarbanes Oxley, DCMA, CPSR, AS9100, and ISO audits

Experience Requirements:

Bachelors degree. Preferred: Bachelors degree in business or related field, or MBA.

Minimum 8 – 10 years in material planning and production control or related fields.

Previous experience working for a DoD contractor including demonstrated compliance with government requirements

Requisition may be filled at a lower level, (Material Planner) with a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ of experience in material planning in an aerospace, manufacturing, or related environment
