Job Summary

The ServiceNow Developer is an important resource for the ongoing custom development of applications/modules running on the ServiceNow platform. The ServiceNow Developer will work with several teams to maintain existing code as well as to develop new features/functionality on both the desktop and mobile applications to support the business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Under general direction, independently develops, maintains and extends a stable production, development and testing middleware infrastructure while extending the functionality and enabling developers to use it via mentoring and formal training
  • Independently develops, modifies, and implements moderately to highly complex information systems that are thorough and accurate and conform to MST standards
  • Codes, tests, debugs, and documents assignments of moderate to high complexity. This includes both desktop and mobile applications
  • Independently researches and resolves more complex technical problems in both production and non-production environments
  • A top level technical contributor in highly specialized phases of applications system architecture with strong technical (applications based) knowledge
  • May serve as project manager or team lead on complex projects
  • Based on customer requirements, formulates/defines systems scope and objectives
  • Researches, develops, codes or modifies architecture components that are well designed, efficient and conform to MST architectural standards
  • When assuming the project manager role, manages day-to-day project-related activities for projects of moderate to high complexity
  • Work with multiple business owners to move forward development and enhancements around Nuvolo’s Facility Management modules including Work Orders and Asset management and Core ServiceNow Modules including Surveys, Service Portal and Record Producers in a Multi-Tenant Instance separated by custom query business rules
  • Build and maintain internal and external facing mobile device friendly ServiceNow modules using client-side browser technologies (e.g., JavaScript, jQuery, JSON)
  • Integrate front-end UI with backend service APIs using JSON, REST or XML   
  • Work with clients to identify target use cases for automation, as well as defining and documenting business and functional requirements for software development. 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a similar technical discipline, or comparable industry experience
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
  • ServiceNow Mobile Experience Required
  • Ability to build ServiceNow Reports, dashboards and homepages
  • Ability to set up data security via control rules, domain separation
  • 3 to 5 years in ServiceNow configuration and development experience  
  • Good hands-on knowledge and experience with any one or more areas: JavaScript / HTML/ CSS / AJAX / Angular / Bootstrap / Jelly Script
  • Experience administering a ServiceNow instance including group roles, permissions, modifications for business rules, workflows, UI pages, UI actions, UI policies.   
  • Minimum 10 years of total IT/cybersecurity experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting the implementation, administration, configuration and/or development of the ServiceNow tool
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication skills are necessary to be able to translate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Energetic self-starter able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • High sense of ownership, responsibility, and commitment to quality
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting deadlines
  • Effective organization, collaboration, planning, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Experience in facilities management industry a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
