This role is being offered on a permanent basis.


We’re looking for someone who:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the following, individually and collectively within a team context:

  • Leading the strategy, design, installation and configuration of an enterprise class Splunk infrastructure platform, with end points (Splunk Forwarders) across a range of Linux, Unix and Windows operating systems
  • Driving and supporting complex deployments of multiple Splunk components (Search Head, Indexer, Deployment Server, Cluster Master, etc.)
  • Collaborating with product and technical teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation gathered from customer input
  • Leverage previous experiences, share best practices and create innovative solutions to push user adoption and maximize the value of Splunk
  • Lead and mentor team members in the delivery of Splunk, upskilling as appropriate, assign tasks  and oversee delivery, set and measure individual performance objectives through formal appraisal processes and informal ongoing interactions
  • Manage Apps/Dashboards for usage and errors working with application owners. Identifying bad searches/dashboards and partnering with the creators to improve performance
  • Troubleshooting Splunk performance issues / Opening support cases with Splunk
  • Monitor the Splunk infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization & cluster administration. License monitoring and reporting.
  • Restrict access to sensitive logs and confidential data – provide granular, role-based security.
  • ITSI installation and maintenance experience an advantage.

Does this sound like something that you want to be part of?


You will need to show us that you can/have:


  • Minimum 10 years technical experience working in and supporting Linux / Unix environments with low level operating system and related network and security experience, or alternatively similar experience supporting technologies and applications hosted on these platforms
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrable hands on experience implementing, managing and maintaining enterprise class Splunk platforms
  • Strong problem solving skills, structured analytical approach to resolution
  • Flexibility and experience to independently provide incident and change support outside of standard business hours weekdays and weekends on a rota basis
  • A strong understanding audit, compliance and security standards and experience managing and maintaining environments to comply with these standards
  • Strong communication skills; fluency in spoken and written English
  • Automation / scripting knowledge and experience  (Ansible, Python, Chef etc.) with real world examples highly advantageous
