About The Role

We are now recruiting for a Senior Payroll Officer to oversee all aspects of payroll processing within Accolade Wines. Reporting into the Global Payroll and HR Systems Manager, you will be responsible for managing payroll systems, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, resolving payroll discrepancies, timely and accurate payments to all employees as well as take the lead in managing key internal and external stakeholders. You will work with various teams to develop a business partnering approach to the management of payroll and be a subject matter expert for any payroll queries. You will be based from our Bristol or Weybridge office, with flexibility to work from home for part of the week.
This is a 12 month Fixed-Term Contract position.
Key Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for overseeing the UK and EMEA payroll function, which includes but is not limited to:
- Ensuring all payments and deductions relating to the UK monthly salaried payroll, are accurate and timely.
- Ensuring all legislative changes are implemented for monthly and year end processes.
- Manage the outsourced payroll provider, ensuring adherence to SLA’s.
- Annual external audit, ensuring full preparation and compliance with requirements.
- Ensure payments to third parties are communicated to and are paid as per monthly schedules, such as HMRC, pension providers, childcare vouchers, and government bodies.
- Reconciling and loading periodic payroll ledgers into the finance system.
- Support the annual salary review processes in both the HRIS and payroll system.
- Support the HR Information System (HRIS) team with day to day query/issue management.
- Responsible for leading payroll related projects, including responding to changes in legislative reporting requirements.
- Enhance payroll processes and procedures to mitigate risk across the business and streamline operations.
- Responsible for the payroll configuration in the Kronos Time and Attendance system.
- Point of contact for all payroll queries from the finance department
What You’ll Bring
- 3 – 5 years experience in a payroll officer role
- High degree of numeracy skills and financially astute
- High Microsoft Excel literacy
- Experience working with ResourceLink & Kronos Workforce Management (desirable)
- CIPP (or equivalent) qualified/working towards (desireable)
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines, understanding true priorities
- Ability to navigate the “grey” areas by applying judgement and thinking creatively when responding to employee, manager and stakeholder needs
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset
- Flexibility to work across global teams
