General Summary

The Senior OMS Developer is responsible for taking on issues, researching root causes, and pushing towards timely resolutions. This position requires extensive experience with a strong background in application development, support, and administration. This person must have a proven ability to triage and resolve application administration, access, functional, data and technical integration issues. Must be able to establish and maintain standards and procedures leading to optimized configuration management, release management, and quality assurance. This individual must be very hands on and well versed in the management of external service providers, through Service Level Agreements and service partnerships, in order to ensure that the technology infrastructure is functioning, reliable, available, and evolves and matures with the needs of this high growth organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and fix functional, deployment or systemic issues across Yantra 9.X OMS, COM PCA & SOM (Sterling Store/Webstore) to ensure stable operations
  • Participate in and/or lead the design, development, and implemented solutions using Sterling OMS modules and leveraging best practices and out of the box functionality wherever possible
  • Forecast and plan for supporting both applications functionality and support of business requirements in a rapidly growing, changing, and complex environment
  • Work with management team to coordinate and prioritize all escalated activities, including testing, implementation of system upgrades/patches, enhancements, and bug fixes
  • Maintain frequent interaction for the business and legacy system owners to integrate knowledge of business and functional priorities
  • Evaluate application technologies and tools to remain current with industry trends and practices and make recommendations for applications within the enterprise
  • Coordinate with IT and Business Leadership to provide a set of solutions that are scalable, adaptable and in line with the digital platform requirements to support business and technical requirements
  • Performs efforts to resolve technical integration issues between multiple ASP’s and packaged application software products across a partially hosted/ distributed environment
  • Execute strategies and plans for ongoing support and development of DBI’s digital technology infrastructure in line with the growing and changing needs of the business
  • Build tools for automated testing and deployment of applications
  • Flexible in schedule to cover 24X7 rotating operational support
  • Perform root-cause analysis on all outages and system issues and report in a timely manner.
  • Develop and share best practices on installing, configuring, and maintaining software applications
  • Mentor and assist junior developers on the team


Required Skills:

  • Must be able to build enterprise application using ANT, Bamboo or Maven or related build technologies
  • Must be able to administer and deploy Enterprise application in Websphere Application Network deplorer
  • Must be able to create, administer and manage Websphere JMS Queues
  • Must have hands-on experience installing, patching, configuring, and managing Websphere Application Server 6.0 and higher
  • Ensures IT compliance and security policies are enforced via system administration, data compliance, and application release strategies
  • Perform root-cause analysis on all outages and system issues and report in a timely manner
  • Ensure all application related processes and procedures are documented and stored in an organized location to knowledge is easily transferred/shared
  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of technical support to meet or exceed SLA’s.

  • Java Application Development Certification a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of retail industry a plus



  • 4+ years hands on experience developing Web applications using Java technology including JSP, Servlets, EJB, JMS and JDBC, XML, XSL, XSLT, XPATH, and Java based XML API's
  • Strong oral/written communications and analytical skills
  • 4+ years Linux or Unix experience
  • Experience in collaborating with multiple teams of highly skilled technologists
  • Experience with source code control, such as: SVN, Git, etc.
  • Must have a personal drive for working hard and striving for excellence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering plus 4-6 years of experience in developing and administering applications


  • Experience working with Yantra Order Management 9.X, including Yantra RCP COM/SOM/Sterling Store (Webstrore)
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server 7.0 and MQ experience
  • Oracle experience
  • Eclipse IDE
