We are currently recruiting for a Security Systems Administrator to assist in the daily duties of administering our client's security systems (including access control, intrustion detection, video surveillance, etc.) for approximately 150 facilities and nearly 7000 active users.  If you are a detail oriented professional who thrives in a role where you have the opportunity to learn new technology and systems then this may be the perfect opportunity for you to leverage your skills. 

What you’ll be doing

          Electronic Access Control 

  • Assist with the operation of the Regional Access Control systems – Including but not limited to Adding/Removing/Configuring users, cards, levels and rules, doors, and associated devices
  • Assist with the provision of access reporting and logs as required
  • Assist with investigating cardholder activities as requested / required
  • As required, remotely opening and closing doors on the security systems as per client requests
  • Investigate and resolve door strike and card reader malfunctions and dispatching vendors accordingly
  • Assist with the administration of electronic keys as required

    Intrusion Detection Systems

  • Operate the Regional intrusion detection and monitoring systems
  • Investigate and resolve incoming alarms as reported by alarm monitoring companies, security staff, and service providers
  • Complete monthly arming/disarming audits
  • Investigate and resolve intrusion detection / panic system issues and dispatching vendors accordingly

    Video Surveillance

  • Assist with Operating the Region’s video surveillance equipment in accordance with specifications, guidelines, and procedures (related to deletion, archiving, storage, organization and filing, etc.)
  • Process video surveillance service requests / work orders
  • Review video surveillance footage for various incidents as requested and report as required to authorized Region representatives
  • Ensure compliance to Freedom of Information provisions, MFIPPA, the Regional HR Guidelines, and other statues as related to video surveillance
  • Investigate and resolve video surveillance systems issues and dispatching vendors accordingly

    Systems Administration 

  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to other corporate security team members, including coordinators, security supervisors, team leads, and guards in all matters relating to systems administration
  • Order systems administration related supplies and equipment
  • Report any systems-related issues as soon as possible
  • Provideback-up and support to the Senior Systems Administrator when required
  • Tracking, following up on, and updating security systems -related work orders
  • Control and maintain inventory of spare security systems equipment
