Assists in the coordination and execution of the Center’s patient schedule. Collaborates in the management and scheduling of add-ons. Assists with the maintaining of data and process improvement. Responsible for patient registration filing, data entry, preparation of patient charts and other clerical duties as assigned. Accurately registers and admits surgical patients. Exhibits knowledge and understanding of insurance and co-payments. Facilitates the communication between unit, physicians, physician’s office, and team. Actively collaborates with physician office staff, including but not limited to Office Managers and Schedulers, to identify opportunities for improvement to enhance performance, efficiency, streamline operations and improve customer service. Works to improve quality and eliminate errors for the scheduling of patients, pre admission requirements and other patient needs. Performs efficiency reviews on a continuous basis and implements process improvements initiatives as opportunities are identified. Rounds to physician offices on a quarterly basis to further identify opportunities to improve customer service and communication. Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Supports the department mission. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Maintains a working knowledge of departmentalstandards, policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Training, or Experience:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Business, clerical, insurance and/or hospital experience and medical terminology related to surgical procedures and medical diagnosis required. Previous surgical schedule experience preferred. Computer knowledge required. Microsoft Office skills preferred.

Required: Ability to work under pressure while maintaining positive customer service and professional attitude at all times. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to prioritize. Ability to concentrate on duties with frequent interruptions. Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonalskills, organizational ability, knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions, knowledge of age of population served and additional skills.
