Overview

Role Purpose:

The position is responsible for advancing the capabilities and competencies of DMAIC, Lean, and PQA methodologies across the company. This role will reinforce Total Quality as the guiding principle through interactions with businesses and leading strategic projects. In addition, this role will help execute the Total Quality Strategy, in close coordination with the Total Quality Leadership Team (QLT), Performance Excellence and Quality Councils. This role is part of the Global Quality Program Management group which is chartered to support activities related to the deployment of training for continual improvement programs (PQA, DMAIC, DESGN, Lean), support for QAS & Lean Elements(AME), Talent Development and Management, Strategic Projects, Financials, Corporate/Department Strategy objectives, and the Transformational Maturity Model.

 

Responsibilities

• Strategy Deployment o Lead process to develop a renewal strategy for Performance Excellence o Partner with regional and division leaders to evaluate gaps and further develop continual improvement program strategy (PQA, DMAIC, DESGN, Lean)

o Monitor external trends and internal business needs and propose strategy revisions to respond quickly to changes o Ensure effective communication of the strategy with leadership and integrate it into tactical plans to drive focus, increased leadership commitment and support for driving continuous improvement

o Establish strategic partnerships with related training and program owners to advance continuous improvement

 

• Business Integration o Serve as an interface between Global Quality Center of Excellence, Performance Excellence Champions, Quality Managers, and managers of related programs.

o Routinely engage with division representatives to understand PEx roadmaps and communications plans and ensure that business needs are integrated into the Quality strategy

o Achieve full involvement of all employees in Total Quality through Performance Excellence

o Partner with the Performance Excellence Operations (PEO) team to leverage Performance Excellence to improve product and process capability, reduce operating costs, and permanently solve problems using proven methodologies and tools

 

• Program Deployment o Serve as the regional subject matter expert (SME) for continual improvement methodologies (PQA, DMAIC, DESGN, Lean)

o Support deployment of DMAIC, Lean, and PQA programs through blended learning programs, hands-on workshops, or project facilitation

o Continuously improve and adjust training content to maximize effectiveness; maintain Performance Excellence curriculums across all methods

o Integrate and align all Performance Excellence methods, tools, techniques, etc… companywide to ensure clarity and consistency of application

o Partner with the QLT and relevant Councils to develop annual plans for co-promotion and marketing campaigns to drive a visible vibrant “Living” Quality culture

o Engage with the Communications and Change Management (GMQSCI) team regarding messaging and materials to maximize program adoption

o Lead or support key initiatives as program manager, project lead, sponsor, or coach

 

• Talent Development

o Develop and maintain Performance Excellence Communities of Practice, to share best practices globally — accelerating advancement and consistency

o Ensure divisions have the resources to effectively deploy continual improvement strategies

Experience/Education

• Bachelors degree in related area (e.g. Statistics, Industrial Engineering)

• Master Black Belt preferred; certified Belt or equivalent in at least 2 Performance Excellence Methodologies (e.g. DMAIC, Lean, PQA, MEE, etc…)

• At least 3 years of experience leading a performance excellence group or function

• Strong Project Management skills and experience with proven PEx leadership abilities.

• Proven teaching and mentoring skills

• Experience leading a team
