At our facility in Ashland you can develop your full potential, sustainably, by applying your expertise within the Speciality Product division of our team as the Quality Control Technician :
The primary location will be at the Bear Island paper mill complex, a 13-minute drive from the town of Ashland. Travel between 20% up to 50% will be required within Southeastern USA primarily.
- Perform recycled fibre bale inspections according to established standard operating procedures and audit schedules
- Perform verification and calibration of measuring devices
- Operate high value drill and industry leading optical sensing probe
- Data entry of probe results from audits into Cascades reporting software accurately and timely
- Communicate audit schedules to operations and logistics management
- Communicate non-conformance and low quality to supply teams
- Conduct work in accordance with all established healthy and safety protocols, including wearing work boots, high visibility clothing, hard hats/bump caps, glasses, and a mask.

You too, put forward your strengths:
- Must be fluent English, both written and verbal
- Must have a full valid Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle
- Must be able to travel on a plane within the USA and to Canada
- Completed college/university level education in quality engineering, environmental technical studies, or similar
- Ability to handle and operate high value equipment
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn and/or apply quality concepts and quality processes, including statistical basics
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with managers, supervisors, and production floor employees
- Rigor in data entry from auditing equipment to data management software
- Experience in the recycling or paper industry is considered an asset, but not required
