Job Summary

The Practice Manager will support the clinical operations of the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes.  The primary responsibilities are to manage and build the EPIC scheduling templates and the provider schedule in Qgenda.  The Practice manager is responsible for the management and maintenance of the complex outpatient schedules for all Endocrine providers (over 70).   The Practice Manager will partner with the Business Manager to monitor and assess outpatient access for the Division.



Clinical Operations

  • Serve as master EPIC template builder for the outpatient clinic schedules
  • Adjust EPIC and Qgenda to reflect clinical personnel’s vacations, conference time and time on-service by accurately booking out staff for absences and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Manage the Endocrine clinic grid ensuring that is it accurate and up-to-date at all times
  • Use the CHOP improvement framework to assess existing processes, define and diagnosis issues, implement and assess tests of change and facilitate improvement.  
  • Collaborate in the training of other staff in regards to improved processes and procedures.


Participate in independent project work and attend meetings that relate to access and flow in outpatient clinic.

  • Use available reporting systems and tools to assess, track and analyze data as requested.
  • Collect and collate data in regards to fill rate, 3rd next available and other relevant collection and analysis that will ensure the success of clinic.
  • Design reports to analyze access and flow in outpatient clinic to ensure efficiency.

Required Education and Experience

Required Education:

  • High School/GED required


Required Experience:

  • One (1) year of related healthcare experience

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelors in business, health administration or related field


Preferred Experience:

  • Two (2) years of healthcare related experience
  • Previous management or supervisory experience

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Proficiency in standard office applications, especially spreadsheets.

  • Proficiency in EPIC; creating templates and scheduling

  • Ability to analyze, plan, and implement new ideas. 

  • Demonstrated strong leadership potential.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Fast learner with the ability to work independently.
