The Fiber Supply Manager position is responsible for the management and coordination of fiber deliveries to support the Augusta mill.  Duties include team leadership, fiber supply planning, wood cost forecasting, logistics, inventory management, process improvement, and managing contacts with the public and government officials on forestry and fiber supply related issues. The position reports to the East Region Manager who has overall fiber supply responsibility for nine mills in the Region.


The position provides leadership of the Augusta Fiber Supply team.  Further responsibilities include:


  • Providing the necessary leadership to insure team members, contractors and on- site visitors perform safely.
  • Strategic planning
  • Ensuring optimized wood plans are updated to maintain lowest cost on a sustainable basis.
  • Leading the utilization of our Manufacturing Excellence process to improve processes and reduce waste.
  • Provides leadership for the Augusta Joint Team, and active member of East Region Fiber Supply Lead Team.
  • Responsible for effective communications with the Graphic Packaging leadership.
  • Leading change to achieve continuous improvement
  • Maintaining an in-depth & up to date knowledge of fiber markets and insuring team members do the same.
  • Responsible for managing performance and development for all team member’s developmental opportunities. Responsible for creating an inclusive environment necessary for strong team engagement.
  • Building and maintaining beneficial relationships with key suppliers, external customers, mill partners, government officials, and industry associations.





  • Direct supervision of four exempt employees and one non-exempt employee.  Indirect supervision of seven exempt and four non- exempt employees.
  • Responsible for 2.3 million tons of pine and hardwood round wood and chip purchases annually.
  • Total annual fiber and procurement spend = $ 100 million.
  • Fiber Fuel purchases =150,000 tons annually.
  • Oversight of two roundwood wet storage woodyard and two chip mill operations that supports the Augusta mill.
  • Additional hardwood and pine purchases for other International Paper sourced mills in Savannah and Eastover. 



  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Forest Management, Business administration or related field.
  • At least 5 years experience in fiber supply or related fields preferred.
  • Well-grounded in business management with a working knowledge of supply chain management. 
  • Candidates should have a working knowledge of the use and application of forecasting & optimization models.
  •  Must be adept at handling change as the market environment in this location is very dynamic.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
