• Support the advancement of Corning’s digital readiness by developing communications strategies and key messaging

• Oversee digital strategy content development and communications planning for all levels throughout the company, and across all channels, ensuring consistent, concise, and clear messaging

• Ensure strategic messaging aligns with corporate objectives and promote employee engagement

• Present communication strategies, plans, tactics, and rationale to senior leadership within the IT organization and across Corning’s business units as needed

• Develop strategy to connect and engage global, cross-business communities of practice

• Plan and coordinate digital events such as Digital Rodeos, hackathons, sprint development, and more

• Manage relationships within the digital team, IT leadership, and business leadership, to effectively communicate and execute the digital strategy objectives

• Be a collaborative partner with Corning’s business units; solicit voice of customer feedback and make strategic communications recommendations from analysis

• Serve as change management communications lead for digital; develop and execute change management plans for key digital initiatives

• Work with the Training & Development team to integrate training efforts with communications and change management

• Build, strengthen, protect, and leverage Corning’s digital brand and messaging internally and externally

• Collaborate with the IT strategy and transformation communications team to ensure alignment with key IT strategy messaging

• Delegate responsibilities to key subject matter experts and teams across the enterprise, while ensuring effective outcomes

• Manage / work with vendors and consultants as needed to support objectives

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field required.


Minimum seven years of communications experience, preferably in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, or communications-related field.

• Strong writing and editing abilities, including proficiency in Associated Press style

• Strong change management skills and experience leading cultural change

• Ability to assess priorities and manage many projects simultaneously

• Experience working on a project that reached global employees and required culturally sensitive communication strategies

• Ability to deliver effective and targeted communications across a very diverse organization, from the highly digital literate (e.g. data scientists) to those who are not, from the CEO to the production worker.

• Experience with multiple media approaches (physical/virtual, social, video, interactive exploration, blogs, community driven, hack-a-thons, etc.)

• Ability to use A/B testing and other means to assess channel effectiveness

• Skilled in measuring post-communications impact

• Excellent organizational skills, detailed-oriented

• Self-motivated with a demonstrated work ethic and a commitment to delivering outstanding work

• Experience in design and developing content for web pages

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and PowerPoint

• Capable of working independently and interdependently

• Experience in digital transformation initiatives and working on agile teams
