We have an opportunity for you to join our production team as a Maintenance Millwright

at our Cambridge, Ontario facility.

Primary Function:

 

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the scope of this integral position involves the maintenance of all property and equipment at the facility, including mechanical and some non-compulsory electrical repairs. This innovative and proactive team oriented, and problem-solver individual will maintain the life of the equipment, minimize downtime, and ensure the safe and efficient operations of plant equipment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on heavy machinery and components to ensure optimal functionality and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance to production equipment as well as other services and utilities.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with machinery and equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Repair and Installation: Conduct repairs, replacements, and installations of mechanical components, including bearings, shafts, gears, and conveyor systems, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory levels, to track maintenance schedules and equipment history.
  • Communicate with the rest of the maintenance team and plant personnel when resolving problems.
  • Coordinate with other members of the maintenance team, as well as production and engineering staff, to optimize equipment performance and address maintenance-related concerns.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for enhancing equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in maintenance techniques, attending training sessions and workshops as required.

Qualifications:

 

  • Must possess a valid certificate of competency/license issued by the province of Ontario in the field of “Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) with certificate of Apprenticeship”.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as Maintenance Millwright/Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety.
  • Must have knowledge of plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Requires standing, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs. This includes above and below shoulder level.
  • Basic Computer Skills – MS Office components and Adobe Acrobat
  • Fundamental understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs [CMMS]
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot various type of industrial equipment from basic to complex.
  • Ability to read equipment blueprints/schematics.
  • The ability to safely operate power / hand tools and all related safety equipment.
  • Available to work all shifts:
    • Weekday days: 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Mon – Thurs) OR
    • Weekday afternoons: 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Mon – Thurs) OR
    • Weekend days: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours) OR
    • Weekend afternoons: 5:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours)
