This position will perform and deliver on routine assignments and projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. S/he will be responsible for the management of assigned claims. S/he will review, investigate, and make claim determinations regarding coverage, compensability, and appropriate outcome of claims.
Duties and Responsibilities
Analyzes and processes claims by obtaining, investigating, and summarizing information to make claim determinations.
Analyzes claimants coverage contracts to determine basic payment eligibility is met.
Conducts interviews with external stakeholders (e.g. physicians, claimants, and/or lawyers); when additional information cannot be obtained, escalates as needed and identifies next steps to ensure efficient handling.
Effectively collaborates with appropriate internal stakeholders to determine claim eligibility and to manage claim through full life-cycle.
Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding claim eligibility determinations to management.
Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Partners with management and other resources to contribute to training materials; provides training to claims team members.
Performs and delivers on routine assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Proactively identifies and resolves issues and/or concerns; clearly articulates claim process & review to address customer questions.
Provides coaching/feedback to claims teams on effective use of policies/procedures and best practices in claims workflow & management.
Reviews and provides assessments to facilitate settlement of claims up to designated authority level and makes claims payments.
Reviews obtained information to make claim determinations and ensure appropriate claims outcomes for his/her assigned claims.
Supports and promotes change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Supports management in the review of team performance, identifies trends and provides feedback to enhance practices/processes to ensure a positive customer experience.

4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors)_Minimum Required in Business or Finance
